DON'T TRUST YOUR MIND

Trusting your mind’s understanding has unpleasant consequences.  George lost his job.  His mind became irrational, illogical, unreasonable and nonsensical, worried and afraid, and then George got emotionally and physically irritated, upset, and angry, and then his mind plotted all the violence George could do.

Trusting life’s understanding has pleasant consequences.  Steve lost his job.  Steve had trained his mind to not be  irrational, illogical, unreasonable and nonsensical, worried and afraid, so he did not get emotionally and physically irritated, upset, and angry, so his mind did not plot violence.  Instead, his mind appreciated that whatever came next would just be more exciting experiences and challenges to enjoy before he got old and died laughing.

Humans do not understand much about life, but they can understand that life does what it does, and they can accept that there are things they can control and things they can’t control, and things they can change and things they can’t change, and having done their best, that’s all they could do.

Whether you enjoy life or suffer life depends on whether you’ve let your nature-trained mind run your life, or have taken charge of your mind, and trained it to enjoy all that is life.

If you look at life as an exciting adventure filled with opportunity to experience new challenges, you will be thrilled just to be alive having experiences, whereas if you look at life as a never ending shit storm trying to drown you in its outhouse, you have shit for brains.

Your untrained mind will jabber and jabber, and complain and bitch about everything that doesn’t go its way.  Why?  Because your mind came programmed for survival (which you should be grateful for and appreciate) and then there is the portion of your mind that was programmed from the moment you were born to  pursue the current definition of happiness (rather than to just be happy being alive having adventures).  To be happy, you have to dump your afterbirth nonsensical programming and reprogram your mind to be rational, logical, and to not be nuts.
