RIGHT OR WRONG

I watched a movie, then a play, read a fiction book, went to a theme park, traveled to a foreign country, visited relatives, went to a shopping mall and watched people, and suddenly realized, something is wrong.  To make sure I was correct thinking that something was wrong, I went to a prison, a jail,  a hospital emergency room, a children’s hospital, then to an old folks home, a hospice, a morgue, and a graveyard, and ended up at a war memorial.  Yup, I am positive that almost everything happening on Earth is wrong, especially with my two neighbors who are members of a weird religion and dress funny, and those kids with piercings and spiked red hair.

As I sat pondering all that was wrong, I fell into a trance and had not a single thought. I discovered a place where nothing was wrong.  But the cool part happened when I woke up, and went back to all those places, and found nothing wrong.  And that’s when I called my psychiatrist, and told him about my experience, and he told me that, that’s what happens after a lobotomy.  I asked him what’s a lobotomy, and he said that’s when we cut out the personal mind, the part of the mind that was programmed, brainwashed, indoctrinated and trained from the moment of conception.  We cut out the personal mind that recorded all the stuff your parents and relatives fed it, cut out all the stuff society, culture and schooling pumped into it.  In other words, we cut out everything that causes you to think life is doing life wrong. We cut out the part of the brain that judges what life is doing, the part that has opinions, biases, prejudices, preferences, and draws conclusions, the part that calls life an idiot for doing what life does.    We cut the part of the brain that thinks it’s smarter than life, the part that doesn’t know what life is doing.

So I asked my shrink how come humans have physical, mental, emotional needs, wants, desires, and get attached, entangled, and identified with people, places, things.  He said that if life didn’t want humans to experience life that way, humans wouldn’t be experiencing life that way.  So I told my shrink that, that’s where life is still wrong.  And that’s when he told me to come back in and get the final part of the lobotomy that failed to cut out that part of the brain that still thinks life screwed up, the part that still thinks life does life wrong.  So what’s the take away from all this, I asked him.  He said, “Whatever life does is right, which means, you thinking life does life wrong is also right.”  Well then, How come I had a lobotomy?”  I asked.  He said, “My payment on my new jet was due.”  I said, “That ain’t right!”    He said, “Whether right or wrong, don’t blame me, blame life.”  Then he hung up.
