You’re a gamer focused on your avatar, which causes you to forget you’re a gamer. The same thing happens when you’re watching a moive. You are so focused on the movie, you forget you’re watching a movie. We are creators pretending to be the things we create. It becomes obvious at some point that life is a game that creators play for their joy, pleasure and entertainment. When you reach that point you continue to play your character, but you know it’s just a character. The other characters who have not reached that point now look at you like you’re strange. You’re not exactly like your old character, and they who have not reached that point, may even think you’re nuts, because you can, at a whim, move in and out of character.
You are so focused on thinking you are your character there’s no room for the real you to pop through. Your mental cup is so full of yourself, there’s no room for the real you.
You are an intelligence.
You get a body.
The body is a veil, a cloak. and you forget you are an intelligence.
The intelligence gets trained, programmed, but doesn’t know it’s programmed.
At some point, something happens, and the trained intelligence questions its training, its programming, its beliefs.
And now the intelligence doesn’t know what to think about itself, so it’s confused, and may even reject the experience that caused it to question its programming.
The intelligence eventually experiences enough, that it knows that it is not its body, mind and emotions. Once you experience that, everything changes.
